Rwanda is the land of a thousand hills. The security situation is ok these days, but there are warnings about the border with Burundi and DRC. South Africans don't need a visa, just a valid passport, for stays up to 90 days.

- Virunga Volcanoes - Parc National Des Volcans, Gorillas in the Mist - Nyiragongo has a lava lake, but is technically in DRC so might be a no go area. Very expensive.
- Lake Kivu - inland beaches
- Parc National Nyungwe Forest - One of the best places to see primates. Rainforest.
- Kigali - Kigali Memorial Centre, Hotel Rwanda, Ntarama + Ntayama Churches, Bourbon cafe (good coffee, free wireless)
