Shark Diving

Previous: Table Mountain HikeNext: Learning from the expert mechanics
Brett: We went shark diving at Gaansbaai. It is amazing how calm the sharks are underwater and not interested in humans. There were 13, with the biggest being 3.8m long. Still not sure if it is the ethically correct thing to do, but the company we went with was very good and were geared up with marine biologists doing some great research. On balance, it is probably good if it doesn't grow too big - it raises awareness that sharks are not after humans and the dive boats being there tend to keep the poachers away.
