We will probably start in Cape Town and definitely end there. There are a couple places we want to see en-route and we also want to visit friends on the way. This is also the best time to test out the vehicle, tent, equipment etc.
Setting off on trip:
- Joburb
- Cape - Cape Town & Cape Point, Cape Agulhas (the southernmost point), Malgas Point (crossing the Breede river by hand drawn pontoon first opened in 1860!), Gamkaskloof, Swartberg Pass, Prince Albert, Oudtshoorn, Tsitsikama forest, Grahamstown (find where Pop was born?)
- Transkei - Hole in the Wall, Coffee Bay (backpackers), Port St Johns, Magwa Falls
- KZN- Durbs, Midlands, Southern Berg
- Drakensberg - Underberg area, Sani Pass
- Lesotho - Malealea (one of our possible wedding venues), Maluti Mountains, Maseru
- Northern Berg - Golden Gate, Sungubala
- Joburg
- Northern Province ish - Tshipise + Honnet Nature Reserve
Return leg at end of trip:
- To Cape Town via Joburg, Free State and Karoo.
- Strandkombuis (stop in to claim our free lunch from getting married there), and then to Cape Town for a cold beer & a hot shower :)
